The Community Renewable Energy (CORE) Association for the Greater Mekong was established to consolidate best-practice guidance and set standards for effective, viable business models in community renewable energy systems. As a demand-driven and inclusive advocate, the association broadened understanding of how electricity access benefited communities and highlighted the full potential of renewables in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the region. It emphasised the viability of community-managed and owned energy services while brokering genuine engagement by governments and the private sector in their delivery. Serving as a platform, it connected communities that managed or were interested in establishing CORE systems, facilitating the sharing of experiences and lessons learned.
Alluvium (through AMPERES) led project delivery in Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Myanmar, recruiting coordinators, conducting assessments, organising workshops, and reporting to Oxfam.
